I visited 1 july-8 july and really enjoyed this little island paradise. I was quite surprised at what I found on arrival. I wanted a quiet place to be alone and just watch the sea hear the surf and soak up some sun.....and that is what I found. Being the low season, there were very few tourists. I stayed at Hotel Iguana in the Resort and I would say that the entire Resort complex was but 1/10 full. Three hotels were closed for renovations but the Club Sol was packed.

Hotels: I had a great room but about 20-30 feet from the sea with a beautiful view . 24 hours of that wonderful sound of crashing surf. My room at the Iguana was very clean and well kept comparable to other resorts I have stayed at but for a much cheaper price. I really liked the cabins at Villa Caprico. And that is where I will stay the next time.

Weather: Hot and humid and mostly sunny (the weather forcasts given on the reference sites here were all wrong). We had 1 cloudy morning and little rain to speak of. It was a gorgeous week for weather.

Food: I liked it !!!! Different taste and different preparation from what I am used to. It gets monotonous simply because it is basically the same buffet everyday in all the restaurants. The suckling pig was great (twice served during my stay) The meat has a very fine taste (probably cause it is not shot up with antibiotics, colour, and water like ours is)And the best yet was the home made ice cream....pure cream, no Chemicals.....to die for :-))......better than Hagen Daaz and Ben and Jerrey's mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Beaches: Fabulous and uncrowded.........I walked 45 mins each way almost everyday and could have done more. If you want crowded tho.....go to Club Sol. A visit to Paraiso beach is a must. It was the most beautiful I have seen apart from the deserted beaches around TULUM in Mexico.

Nudism: Ya ...you can be nude if you want......no pressure to do it and no pressure not to....The nude people were mainly around the Capricho Hotel and beyond. This is not a NUDIST resort but people do go nude. Do it, it feels good. I am a little shy and had gained a lot of weight this past winter so at first was uncomfortable. But then you see others who are fatter than you, who have a different shape,who have smaller breasts or smaller penis......who cares really.....we are all imperfect.!!!!

Other tourists: If ya wanna be with others, you can. If you want to be alone, you can too.....I chose to do a bit of both. I spent time with some french Quebecers and had a blast....Laugh , communicate, and listen.....you will learn and it feels good!! The week I was there, there were mainly French Canadians and Italians and Germans. Apparently this week the majority will be French and British.
In general, I found the whole atmosphere to be unpretentious......easy to be who you are.....and those few who had a problem with me I quickly put them in their place.hehehehehehe

Shopping: There's none.....YIPPPEEEEEEEEE

The Cubans: I talked to many.......they love to talk about there country their culture and their politics.....do it, you'll learn something....Poverty is not obvious on Cayo Largo....the people look really well fed :-)) But it is A tourist resort and we must remember that.

Mosquitoes and Bugs: I didn't see many, even when I remembered to wear my glasses. I took 300mg twice a day of vitamin B1....maybe that's what kept the mosquitoes away from me. Some folks I met did have problems with them tho.

con't.........

J'adore et j'adhère à ce compte-rendu...
1, la crème glacée - elle a effectivement un goût
naturel;
2. il est facile de rester soi-même - naturiste
ou pas;
3, les sites météorologiques - pour la plupart
erronnés;
4. Paraiso - la merveilleuse !
5. les Villas Capricho - un must (en haute
saison);
6. Les cubains travaillant sur cette île
touristique, ne sont pas à plaindre, c.-à-d.
désoeuvrés;
7. La vitamine B1 - autre attestation positive.

Merci pour ce témoignage.

P.S. J'espère que tu peux lire le français...

OH your comments make me want to return. The surf, the sand, the sea, the sun, the simple life, the lack of shopping, the respect that naturists and non-naturists show to each other, the choices to relax are wonderful. Thanks for you report
