Sujet - Subject: CL - reporting live IP: 3043_0.clargo
hi all,
we arrived today at sol club. though we were promised to be able to stay in lindamar, it is not finished yet and wont be till 1 or 2 months.
if there is anything anyone wants to know I will try to check in about every other day.
btw - the mosquitoes are really bad. thanks to all, we have loads of repellent with us.
I will write some impressions soon. When I will be back on the 25th, the pix will be online somewhere - I try to make some of most of the facilities.
all the best
Siegfried

siegfried, Hope you are having a great time. Could you please find out the state of Villa Coral, and if possible when it will re-open. Thank you in advance, Tom.

Hi Siegfried, I hope you're having a great time in Cayo Largo!
Can you tell me if it's the management of the hotel who told you that the Lindamar was not ready or your Tour Operator representative? Have you visit the Lindamar? Is there some rooms ready?
I'm trying to figure out if it's only your tour operator who doesn't have any room available at the Lindamar or all the hotel is still closed.
Thank you! Enjoy your vacation!

Hola / Guten Tages Siegfried
Glad to hear you made it and that you seem to be having a great time on CL.
Are all of the dining services available at the Sol ? Beach grill, pool grill, a la carte and main buffet !
For Lynn Bob-
Its a personal choice, but if you enjoy long walks on the beach, then bring some form of backpack or beach bag so you can carry water and snacks. Lots of Sun screen as it can and does get hot and the rays of the sun seem ( to me anyhow) to be very strong.
Bon Voyage to all of you lucky ones.
Alexander

damn, had a long long answer (answering every sentence here) and forgot to enter a username - well, now quickly in one piece.
first: dont spend money on intern. calls as I did. PPl dont hear u, and the internet here costs 10 cent per minute.
I have been walking to Lindamar and the next hotel (?). Lindamar is 1-2 months from being opened. There's workers all around, barrels of steel on the beach ... this will still take some time. The next hotel even will take longer to be opened - lots of the roofs still are not fixed.
According to what I heard, the only open hotels are sol club and del sur.
Apart from repellent, bring GOOD sun protection. If u happen to be blond like me, take at least 10+ factor! My face is still a mess :-/ As for the facilities here in sol club, everything but the italian restaurant is open, and you can get cuban food at the beach restaurant in the eve instead.
Not all other things are available though; seems the horses got victims of the hurrican, and for the trips you need to reserve some days in advance, since also some boats got destroyed.
as soon as I can catch some more sun again I will start taking pix.
Good luck,
Siegfried

Hi there Seigfried! Hope your vacation went well!
I would appreciate if you could answer some questions for me. I will be travelling with my children at the end of April they are 8&4 to the Sol Club were there any activities for children and a mini club? What about the food and is there pasturised milk?
Thank you and hope you land safely.
